To Whom It May Concern,

I pray that God would grant the CH leadership the wisdom and courage you need to make the decision to appeal the outrageous and ruthlessly anti-Christian decision made against CH by the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal.

The decision against you is just one in a long line of inexcusable decisions by Canadian human rights commissions against Christians and some others.

These commission processes and decisions make a mockery of the Christian principles of jurisprudence that have helped keep Canada and other Western nations free for so many decades. Secular Humanism is a religion of tyranny not liberty, and it is the source of such public policy as that which leads to the existence of human rights commissions.

You may be aware that there’s a sub-plot in this whole culture war right now of a power struggle within Canadian Judaism as conservative Jews Ezra Levant (the defendant in an Alberta HRC case) and Joseph Ben-Ami are calling for the complete abolition of HRC’s, over against leftist Jews who have long been the dominant voice in Canada and who have been generally very supportive of these commissions.

Ezra Levant and renowned columnist Mark Steyn have been demonstrating the historical reality that laws very similar to our hate crime laws and “human rights regimes” in pre-Hitler Germany in fact paved the way for Hitler rather than combating him. These truly are fascistic, irredeemable laws and public policies. And they need to be resisted vigorously, not just for yourselves and the vital Christian-ethics-based ministry you perform for so many real people, but also for the sake of general freedom and Christian liberty in Canada.

Others in this battle like Ezra Levant and Free Dominion website and Maclean’s magazine, and some other Internet bloggers are committed to fighting back and are raising funds and seeking donations to do so. If necessary, I urge you to do the same. If you let Canada’s Nazi Warriors do this to you, they will just pick another victim soon down the road.

CH has an excellent reputation for on-the-ground Christian ministry, and I suspect that’s why it is so attractive to so many people from conservative evangelical churches. Keep up your great work. And please appeal this despicable anti-Canadian decision that has been made against your organization.

To God be the glory.

The recent ruling against CH is sad indeed. However, there is also the wake up call for those who would like to use the word “Christian” in their label, or even as individuals.

A Christian is one who is born agian by the Spirit of God. A Christian is one who accepts Jesus Christ as Saviour. A Christian is one who must understand that Jesus Christ alone is the Saviour of mankind. Mary has no part in the salvation of man. She acknowledged Jesus Christ as her Saviour (Luke 1:47). A Christian is also one who accepts the fact that the Bible, not human tradition is his or her only and final authority. Human tradition has no part to play in how a Christian ought to live. God’s Word is the standard in any and every generation.

If Christians will truly live as Christians, then we have the power of God’s Word as our answer to a secular and ungodly society. They may not accept that answer, but we can take up the position of Petter and John in Acts 4 –

“18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.”

The battles being fought today are spiritual battles. Spiritual battles can only be won if we are enlisted in God’s army. See Ephesians 4:10-18.

Praying that God might be glorified in our day.

Regarding Christian Horizons and the OHRC:
Christan Horizon group homes are funded by the provincial government and as such are subject to laws of non-discrimination.
Such laws include acceptance of diversity in the workplace.
It is illegal to allow bigotry, intolerance, and abuse of minorities at work and employers are obligated to ensure that the workplace does not become toxic.
I fail to understand how this can be disputed. Firing a woman on the basis of her sexual orientation is illegal, plain and simple. It is also immoral in the extreme.
Of course the OHRC did the right thing and it sends a message to other groups who want to practise bigotry.

When a person makes an issue of their sexual perversion, then an employer has a right to be interested. I don’t know what kind of perverted value system would see that as immoral – maybe Jack Layton’s value system!?

The fundamentalism that treats criticism of sexual perversion as bigotry is interesting Such fundamentalists are for more novel and fringe (historically speaking) than are responsible Christians who object to sexually destructive behaviour, especially behaviour that contributes to youth suicide and other youth self-harm.

    Hi Lynn Harrington,

I’ll help your failing understanding. Failed understanding is common among people who’ve bought the premise that a weapon of suppression like the CHRC is okay to persecute people with who don’t believe in Lynn Harrington’s personal views.

Christian Horizons is a ‘Christian’ organization which assumes a biblically ‘Christian’ view of the world, a biblically ‘Christian’ view of knowledge, and a biblically ‘Christian’ view of conduct. The organization operates within the Dominion of Canada where it freely and legally enjoys holding these biblically ‘Christian’ views and conduct policies.

Ms. Harrington, if this kind of freedom scares you living within Canada, perhaps you might consider taking up residence in another country where there is no Christian freedom….Saudi Arabia perhaps, I don’t know version of suppression you’d feel comfortable with.

The CHRC is a odd-ball group of control-freaks who will likely have a short history, anyways. As for homosexuals, biblically faithful Christians will treat all sinners (which are all of us) with dignity and compassion. But subverting our organizations of compassion with foreign views and conduct will not be tolerated in the long run.

  6. The human rights tribunal does indeed have a prescribed agenda far greater and chilling than people realize since they presume to act with authority and and legal pretense that they are the arbitrators of human rights disputes but really are the U.N agent gestapo the main sponsors toward a global state and one world government under the U.N flag who even this day do not recognize the LORD God in the charter…..
