Evolution and Teen Violence

We’re not living in Norman Rockwell’s America anymore. Just a few short years ago, teenagers spent their time playing baseball at a park, or hanging out at the mall with friends. But there’s been a huge escalation in the teen crime rate in the past 10 years. For most of those 10 years, I’ve been speaking out on the effects media has on the next generation, and I honestly never expected to live to see the day when teens would spend their time going on killing sprees instead of going bowling.

Crime has become endemic. In Chicago, there were 36 different acts of violence last weekend. All within a 48-hour period. Nine people died. There were gang shootings, drive-by’s, and an assault on a plumbing supply store. A guy with an AK-47 shot the place up. There was also a botched robbery at a McDonald’s that killed one person and left three others in hospital fighting for their lives. One of those had been shot in the head. And then on Wednesday we received word of a domestic dispute that left another five people dead. What is going on?

Based on the thousands of teens I’ve encountered in my travels, I would say that one of the biggest problems they face is a lack of purpose. They are lost, desperate and alone. Why? I’m convinced one of the reasons underlying this is the promotion of evolution in the school system. From the time they’re old enough to understand, they are repeatedly taught that they are the product of nothing but random chance. But if life is really about nothing but “random chance”, is there any kind of ultimate purpose in taking your next breath? If you don’t have a purpose, you don’t value life; that includes both your own life and the lives of others. And there you have the core reason for the sky-rocketing murder rates, both in America around the world. If we teach kids that they evolved from animals, why should it surprise us so much when they act like animals? Just point the gun and shoot.

Our schools have been teaching evolution – and nothing but evolution – for years now. Millions of tax dollars have been spent to teach our next generation that their great-great-great-grandfather came from an ape. I have a problem with that. Because there’s a lot of proof that a Creator does exist. But there’s no proof at all of evolution. No evidence of one species magically transforming into another. Evolutionists tell us that we can’t teach religion to our youth, but the theory they promote requires more “blind faith” than believing in a Creator God. At the very least, the “other side” in this discussion of origins needs equal time and equal opportunity because as we can see, what is currently being taught is literally killing our kids.

One answer is to check out the newly released Ben Stein film “Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed”. This documentary examines a movement in academic circles to censor the teaching of intelligent design. I’ve said it many times; people want the truth, and positive is “in”. Proof of that is in the numbers from the opening weekend. The film was only shown on about a thousand screens across America; that’s only about half the number that other Top 10 movies were released on, and in spite of that, “Expelled” broke into the top 10 on its opening weekend.

In the movie, Ben interviews many scientists and professors who have been blacklisted, lost tenure, or fired because they questioned the Darwinism.

The movie shows how freedom of speech if being eroded in America. And we need to get it back. This includes fighting for our rights, and opposing any government agency that would use our tax dollars to tells us how we should think or behave.

Do what’s right. Go to your school board and find out what they are forcing into your child’s head. If they’re teaching one view, they MUST teach the other. Don’t just stop at the school board. Make calls to other government officials too; those that fund education. Lobby them for approval to have intelligent design taught in schools. And don’t let the government raise your children. Keep your eyes open, join forces with others in your community, and never give up.

If we don’t get serious about these things, a mere 9 killings in Chicago will one day end up looking like a good weekend.

    Hey Tina!
Thanks for the great articles. How about for an upcoming one you give us some solutions to help fix our local situations. We are all concerned about the current state of our society, but what can we do? Please put together a broadcast of specific things that we as individuals can do to make our society better. Provide some positive alternatives to the garbage and problems you are warning against. Maybe you could provide music and entertainment sources that are positive. And not only sources that are positive, but sources that people in today’s culture would actually be interested in. I know you have great links over at TinaMarieLive.com, but how about doing a positive alternative post here as well.
Keep up the good work, and say Hi to that great hubby of yours!
    Ben
