Homosexual activists don’t give up

In Maine, following the defeat of homosexual “marriage” legislation in the recent elections, homosexuals are encouraging people to report churches to the IRS that may have violated charities law in their engagement on this issue. Being strident socialists, most homosexualists see homosexuality as primarily a political issue rather than primarily a moral and theological issue. As a result, they believe that homosexuality is a subject that should be off-limits to churches that are registered charities. The Alliance Defense Fund has condemned this “frivolous” attack by homosexual activists.

Perpetuating the fraud that Christians are typically responsible for insults and attacks on homosexuals, a British politician – “the first MP to come out as gay,” notes the UK Mirror – claimed that the last-minute addition of a clause to protect those who express opposition to homosexuality to a Labour hate-crime bill may well lead to more violence. The legislation, which makes it an offence to incite hatred against homosexuals was introduced last year. The “free speech” clause had already been inserted into the bill several times by the House of Lords, but was repeatedly removed again by the Labour-dominated House of Commons. Even free speech homosexuals had condemned the fanaticism of PM Gordon Brown’s censorship agenda. Due to the end of the Parliamentary session, the bill had to be passed or it would be lost, so the Labour government agreed to pass it even with the free speech clause included.

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth is frankly asking if America’s pro-family movement has been split by the homosexual movement with the recent Utah Mormon acceptance of a compromise position on homosexuality. “Mormon Church Decision to Embrace Pro-Homosexual Laws Could Presage Split in Pro-Family Movement,” he writes. “We may be witnessing the “official” split of the American pro-family movement against homosexuality into two camps: the principled groups and churches that oppose all efforts to recognize and approve homosexuality as normal (AFTAH is in this camp); and “soft” family organizations and churches that oppose homosexual “marriage” (and sometimes “civil unions”) but which support other parts of the homosexualist agenda. Below is a version of an e-mail I sent yesterday to pro-family leaders across the United States upon learning of this misguided decision by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) to support special legal “rights” based on homosexuality and gender confusion.” Read Mr. LaBarbera’s complete article and letter here.
